Ta’ Mena Estate

Ta’ Mena was founded by the late Carmena (Mena) Spiteri, regenerating agricultural land into fruit and vegetable garden to produce typically Gozitan food.

Their small secret was to use the Mediterranean sun and natural preservatives - particularly marine salt, to preserve several foods and beverages - including Kunserva Helwa (Sweet Tomato Paste), Kunserva Mielha (Salty Tomato Paste), Sun-dried Tomatoes, Wild Capers in Vinegar and the Prickly Pear Liqueur.

They make cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, DOK wine, olives in brine, Gozo honey, Carob, borage, lemon and camomile syrup, and fruit jams (pomegranate, prickly pear, gig, orange, melon, apple, strawberry, plum), cheeselets, and traditional Gozo biscuits and sweets.
